2. Information we collect

• Account information: name, mobile number, email address, and a securely hashed password when you sign up.
• Submissions: details you provide when submitting a guest post, business listing, or contact form. Including your name, mobile number, email, and message content.
• Location: if you tap "Use current location," your browser's geolocation permission prompt asks you first. We only use the coordinates you approve, to fetch weather for that spot, and don't store them on our servers. Searching for a city instead is stored only in your own browser (local storage) so the site remembers your last-viewed city.
• Browser & usage information: standard technical data such as browser type and version, device type, operating system, referring page, and pages visited. Collected automatically via server logs and, where enabled, Google Analytics.

3. How we use it

• To operate your account and remember your preferences.
• To review and, if approved, publish guest post and business listing submissions.
• To respond to messages sent via our contact form.
• To understand how the site is used (via Google Analytics, where enabled) and improve it.
• To show relevant advertising (via Google AdSense, where enabled) and diagnose technical issues.

4. Google Analytics

Where enabled, we use Google Analytics to understand aggregate traffic patterns. Which pages are viewed, how long visitors stay, and general geographic/device breakdowns. Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies and may collect your IP address (which Google may truncate or anonymize depending on configuration). We don't use Analytics data to identify you personally. You can opt out using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on or by declining analytics cookies in our cookie settings.

5. Google AdSense & advertising cookies

6. Other third-party services

Weather and air quality data are fetched live from Open-Meteo. Radar imagery is fetched live from RainViewer. Map tiles are fetched from OpenStreetMap/CARTO. None of these services receive your personal information from us. Only anonymous location coordinates needed to return weather data for the spot you're viewing.

7. Data retention & deletion

We retain account and submission data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service, and contact-form messages for as long as needed to respond and keep a record. To request deletion of your data, contact us at todayweatheralert@gmail.com.

8. Your rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by contacting us. Depending on your location, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act.

9. Children's privacy

TodayWeather is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them.
